Department of Computer Science

History

The Computer Science Department is established to provide a strong academic foundation in computing, programming, and information technology while ensuring that students gain both theoretical understanding and practical problem-solving skills. It aims to produce graduates who are competent in modern ICT tools and capable of applying them to real-life challenges, especially in agriculture and related fields.

The department also focuses on integrating computer science with agricultural development by promoting the use of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), data science, and automation systems to improve farming practices and increase productivity. Through this integration, students are trained to develop innovative solutions that support smart farming, efficient resource management, and better decision-making in agriculture.

Overview

The Computer Science Department is an academic unit dedicated to the study of computation, programming, algorithms, data systems, and modern digital technologies. It equips students with both theoretical foundations and practical skills needed to design, develop, and manage computer-based solutions. The department covers areas such as software engineering, artificial intelligence, database systems, networking, cybersecurity, and web development.

It plays a key role in driving innovation, digital transformation, and technological advancement in both public and private sectors.

Mission

It provide high-quality education in computing and information technology, train students to become competent software developers, system analysts, and IT professionals, promote research and innovation in emerging areas of computing, develop problem-solving skills through practical and theoretical learning and prepare graduates who can meet the needs of the digital economy and contribute to national development.

Vision

The Computer Science Department is to be a leading center of excellence in computing education, research, and innovation, producing globally competitive graduates who can drive technological growth and solve real-world problems using modern computing solutions.
