The Federal Government’s dedication to growing the agricultural sector for the nation’s sustainability and food security is demonstrated by the Federal University of Agriculture Mubi.
With thirteen approved academic programs under Faculties of Science and Agriculture, registered to support a diverse learning environment in line with evolving trends in agricultural innovation and development, the university was established to offer a top-notch tertiary education.

 

Founded by the late President Muhammadu Buhari on May 28, 2023, FUAMB began full activities in 2024 under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. For the benefit of the country, this milestone represented a major stride in resolving the agricultural issues in the region.

A notable momentum of the University is the successful Matriculation and Orientation of 176 students from the 2024/2025 Jamb as the University’s first intake, with Miss Faith Ishaku being the first registered student of FUAMB coupled with the first senate meeting on August 29, 2025 marking the beginning of a new era of academic governance, collaboration, and innovation in the university. The university’s permanent campus, which spans 0ver 300 hectares situated in Mayo-bani, Mubi North, a region renowned for its rich agricultural heritage and fertile soil; the university is quickly expanding with facilities to offer a distinctive setting for students to gain knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurship with the goal of reshaping food security through research, innovation, and education.

The university’s motto, “agriculture the shield of life,” reflects the vital role that agriculture plays. The green on the university’s flag symbolizes healthy nature, lush grasses, grains, trees, and forests, while the blue represents a calm ocean and sky that are serene, stable, inspiring, wise, and reliable. The brown on the flag represents steadfastness, simplicity, and dependability, making the university a beacon of hope for academic excellence, food security, and the nation’s economic growth and development.
